Eligibility for Donating Blood
Eligibility to donate blood and most importantly, getting donors and people who are in need of blood in contact. In fact, the last function may be the most important one since many a time it so happens that online portals work faster than actual hospitals in arranging for blood.
1. Be in good general health and feeling well.
2. Be at least 17-years-old in most states, or 16-years-old with parental consent if allowed by state law – see more information for 16-year-old donors.
3. Weigh at least 110 lbs.
Additional weight requirements apply for donors 18-years-old and younger and all high school donors.
